MISCONCEPTION #5: Only Those Who Know and Accept Jesus Can Go To Heaven

August 11, 2018

Jesus was a Jew. However, his mission and witness of his Father were for everyone, not just those few people who knew him or for those of us who later learned of him.

He said, “I AM the way, the truth and the life.”

He did not say, “I, Jesus, am the way the truth and the life.”

But rather he had full awareness of his oneness with the Father I AM within and he was telling us that the “I AM” in each of us is the way.

Remember the story of Moses and his interaction with God who spoke to him from the burning bush on Mount Horeb. God commanded Moses to return to Egypt, confront Pharaoh, and initiate the rescue of the enslaved Israelites. God told him to say that the God of your fathers has sent me to you.

Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”

God said to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM. Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.” (Exodus 3:13-15)

So Jesus, in his full understanding of who he was and his oneness with the I AM, was saying:

“I AM” is the open door.

“I AM” is the resurrection and the life.

And we only get to that Father—I AM—by way of the Christ, which is our true identity as sons and daughters of God.

This awareness and understanding that the Christ that Jesus was and taught about was not a separate religion from his Jewish tradition.

He was a Jewish Rabbi—an awakened Jewish Rabbi. And the Truth that he was bringing to his people was an illumined understanding of their concept of God that they held as separate from themselves.

He was an incarnation of the Christ in its fullest potential and had the right to say that no man could get to the Father except through him. So he is not separate from us, and we are all the offspring of God and meant to manifest that same Christ-identity here on earth.

The Jews rejected him. And over time, his followers ultimately turned him into the exclusive incarnation of God.

Unfortunately the various religions have separated themselves from this universal concept of the One God, One Source, and have come to believe that no one else can ever be a Christ--a true son or daughter of God.

But Jesus never said these things. He said to follow him--not as a puppy trails after his master--but by literally becoming the living manifestation of Christ as he did.

If we are the offspring of the One God, then we too need to awaken to our true identity as the son or daughter of God.
