MISCONCEPTION #6: Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior Absolves Us from All Sin—Past, Present, an
Many Christians believe that because they have accepted Jesus as their Savior they can continue to break God’s laws and they will always be forgiven. And it is true, God is always willing to forgive us. But the law of cause and effect, also known as karma, is still in effect. What we sow, we reap. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Jesus said that every jot and tittle will be accounted for. (Matthew 5:18).
So, yes, accepting Jesus Christ is accepting the Christ in yourself and in every son and daughter of God. And it indeed puts us back on the right path. We can be forgiven to move forward and do better.
Nevertheless, we are still accountable for how we use God’s energy. Jesus even said that looking at another with lust, we have already committed another with adultery in our hearts. (Matthew 5:28)
So we recognize that we are responsible for, not only our actions, but our thoughts and feelings as well.
Meditation is a great way to calm our thoughts and rein in our emotions. By meditating on our hearts, we enter the doorway to commune with our I AM Presence, the omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent power within us.
This same "place" is also known in the scientific world. David Bohm, an American, was one of the leading quantum physicists of our age, developed the theory of the "Implicate Order."
Bohm's theory is an holistic, cosmic view that says all things are connected. He described it as the "unbroken wholeness of the totality of existence as an undivided flowing movement without borders."
It is in this space that we can experience our oneness with All that Is and recognize our role as the architect of our lives.
If you are new to meditation, take just five minutes per day to quiet your thinking and emotions and focus on your heart and experience the peace, tranquility and equanimity of your Divine Self.
